A unique destination for cosy retreats in the beautiful village of Findhorn

Dram Cottage is a beautiful private home sleeping up to 6 people nestled in the very heart of the wonderful village of Findhorn, Moray.

Built around 1843 the traditional one and half storey fisherman’s cottage huddles with its back to the sea in one of Findhorn’s most tranquil stryplies – the original lanes that connect the heart of the village.

Sympathetically and stylishly updated the cottage provides a relaxing and cosseted experience for up to 6 guests to enjoy together and create special memories.

Moments from the dunes, beach and bay and literally a hop and a skip from the bakery, village stores, Kimberley Inn and Crown and Anchor Pub.

Social yet private – Dram Cottage promises you a very special stay.

What our customers think about Dram Cottage in Findhorn

ABSOLUTE BALL

We had an absolute ball staying here – The house is decorated and furnished beautifully, and it was deliciously warm and cosy. There are lots of lovely little touches. The kitchen is perfectly stocked with all the equipment if you fancy cooking – we will definitely be booking to come back as soon as we can. A really stylish home from home.

CHARMING PLACE

I loved Dram Cottage, it’s more charming than anywhere I’ve ever stayed both outside and inside. The seagulls outside are like listening to great music.

COSY WONDERFUL HOUSE

Dram cottage is a wee gem. We love Findhorn and have stayed in different locations around the village, but this was the most stylish, cosy and convenient. Our girls loved their wee room under the eaves and we enjoyed the well-equipped and beautifully renovated cottage. We hope to visit again.

THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU’RE HERE

Out and about in Moray & The Speyside area

So, you’ve arrived! We have curated a selection of activities to enjoy whilst you visit Findhorn – all of these are within one hour of the cottage. Great for couples or families.

If 11 miles of pure unspoilt golden sandy beach is not enough to keep you occupied – as I must admit we do not seem to roam very far after arriving in Findhorn, then try wandering the Site of Special Scientific Interest dunes which lead you either to Roseisle or to the back of the Spiritual Foundation and Eco Village.

Alternatively, if you have your sea legs, take the water taxi to Culbin and enjoy losing track of time with a further 12 or so miles of pristine sands and dunes shaped by tide and wind which are owned by the RSPB… and which lead to the mighty Culbin Forest with its many miles of paths and spots to sit and rest at Dragonfly Pool, The Gut, Otter Pool or Maviston Dunes.

DRAMATIC WATERFALLS
& WOODLAND WALKS

Further afield and onwards to perhaps Logie Steading and the serene Findhorn River Walk.

FANCY A WEE DRAM AT THE LOCAL?
FINDHORN HAS THREE PUBS

Sit and enjoy the bay, harbour and stunning sunsets, as life goes by, at one of the three pubs in Findhorn, all just moments away.

UNSPOILT BEACH & COASTLINE
JUST A STEP AWAY

Paddle in the water… be brave and have a dip… watch the seals swimming in the Findhorn bay and lounging on the sands.

WHISKY GALORE!
SPEYSIDE WHISKY AT ITS FINEST

Findhorn is close to the distilleries of Speyside. Visit some of Scotland’s famous distillers and sample a wee dram or two whilst you are there.

DISCOVER THE LOCAL SCOTTISH CASTLES
& COUNTRY HOUSES

There are many castles to visit in the area including Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle and Balvenie to name a few.

FOOD FOR FOODIES
& PLENTY OF EATING TO BE DONE

Enjoy a welcome lunch break at the superb Kale Yard – situated in the walled garden of Boath House – or pop to Burghead for the freshest catch of the day.

THE HIGHLAND GAMES
IN FAMOUS BRAEMAR, CAIRNGORMS

The Braemar Gathering, is always held on the first Saturday in September in The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in Braemar.

SCOTLAND – THE HOME OF GOLF
& SPECTACULAR COURSES

We have five golf courses all within 25 minutes of Dram Cottage.

SALMON FISHING ON THE RIVER FINDHORN IN THE HIGHLANDS OF SCOTLAND

Scotland is the home of salmon fishing. Beautiful rivers and magnificent scenery. Salmon fishing on the River Findhorn at Logie is no exception…Just ‘Google’ a ghillie!

DAY TRIPS WITHIN ONE HOUR OF FINDHORN

There is plenty more to do in the surrounding area…

Further afield… onwards to perhaps Logie Steading and the serene Findhorn River Walks

Dallas Dhu Historic Distillery or the Benromach Distillery in Forres…

Then wander up Cluny Hill to the 1806 Nelsons Tower in Forres, or step back in time at the magnificently turreted 16th C Brodie Castle

And if that has built up an appetite – enjoy a welcome lunch break at the superb Kale Yard – situated in the walled garden of Boath House and dating back to 1550 (Don’t forget to wander the lake just beyond the walled garden)

There is no hurry, perhaps another time for some of these days out and excursions! Please though – if you can do shop local in Forres or at Kinloss Wood Side Farm and Coffee shop…
